Before deciding which University or other tertiary options you may be interested in aiming for, it may be worthwhile to find out what Uni is really like? Is Uni for you? What should you expect at Uni? What academic skills will you need? The Australian Government has developed this free, self paced and fun course to help students find out if Uni is for you… What’s Uni Like?

Students at Calrossy enjoy opportunities to meet with and have conversations with University, Tertiary and Vocational training representatives during the year. Opportunities include:

  • Attending careers expos

  • Private Colleges (special visits and open day information)
  • TAFE Open Day visits
  • Online, Skype and phone conversations with representatives in the careers office
  • Meeting with guests and visitors at Calrossy
  • Attending one or more of the series of special dinner careers events in Term 2 (see the upcoming events on the home page)
  • Participating in other careers activities hosted by Calrossy throughout the year

Finding Courses and applying for University

Students can search and find information on courses through each of the individual state admissions centres, such as UAC, QTAC, etc. Additionally, students can use the COURSE SEEKER WEBSITE which is part of an Australian Government initiative to make finding information on higher education courses easier than ever.

UMAT from 2019 will be known as UCAT

UCAT (University Clinical Aptitude Test) for entry into most medicine and dentistry courses across Australia and New Zealand. Students who wish to apply for entry into such courses in 2020 will need to sit UCAT in 2019 UCAT Information
